Maximals and Predacons crash on primitive Earth
after a dring chase through space and time.
The Predacons, with their leader, Megatron,
are a splinter group on the hunt for powerful
crystal power source known as Energon, to be
used in a ploy for power and utter dominance.
This is achieved by way of artifacts known as
the Golden Disks and Megatron's stolen ship,
the Darkside, which is equipped with a
special transwarp drive.
A Maximal science vessel, the Axalon, led by
Optimus Primal, is sent to intercept and
apprehend them. Together the ships are caught
in a time/space phenomenon initiated by
transwarp device on the Darkside during their
battle in space, and land on a mysterious, yet
familiar primitive planet.
This planet is found to be rich in raw Energon,
which becomes poisonous to both the Predaons
and Maximals robot forms, forcing them to
assume alternate organic forms until their robot
forms are truly needed, hence the beast forms.
The battle between the two rages on, with the
planet Earth, and the future of Cybertron and
all Transformers hanging in the balance.
